The Sepolia Merge of Ethereum on the second major test network will happen on July 6, 2022, crypto media U.today reported on June 27.
Ethereum’s All Core Developers Call #141, held on June 24, 2022, summarized the results of the seventh “shadow fork”. The seven “shadow forks” allowed synchronization problems to be identified. ETH’s first “shadow forks” began in mid-April 2022. These updates are done “in parallel” to Ethereum (ETH) mainnet and do not impact ETH transactions in any meaningful way.
As part of the preparations for the eighth shadow fork, all participating teams are working on issues. In addition, the approximate timeline for the next crucial event in pre-Merge preparations, i.e., its activation in Sepolia testnet is shared. The Merge will be launched on July 6, 2022, on the second major test network, and developers are “optimistic” about its launch.
Sepolia will be one of two testnets (along with Goerli) that will remain active after the launch of Beacon Chain. Furthermore, Ethereum (ETH) will likely experience the last “Difficulty Bomb Delay” on June 29.
